SCREENINGS

EVENING #1 - SPORT
CHAIS DES MOULINS > THURSDAY 9th MAY – 9pm (free entry)

Sport will take centre stage (for once) for our first screening evening with, amongst others, a retrospective of the world of 20th century sport thanks to the invaluable Roger-Viollet archives.
Then to celebrate the centenary of the grande boucle, we will show pre-war images of the Tour de France.
To conclude this first night, the last screening will be a Jean Rouch's movie named "Foot-Girafe".

EVENING #2 - A TRIBUTE TO GABRIELE BASILICO
CHAIS DES MOULINS > FRIDAY 10th MAY – 9pm (free entry)

Christian Caujolle will pay tribute on the second evening to the famous Italian photographer Gabriele Basilico who died recently. Gabriele Basilico (born in Milan in 1944) started his career as an architectural photographer. In 1983, he held his first significant exhibition: “Milano, ritratti di fabbriche.” In 1990, he won the Mois de la Photo International Grand Prix.
For almost forty years, he toured towns all over the world: Moscow; Beirut; Istanbul; San Francisco and Shanghai, as well as Milan, his home town. His last photography projects were devoted to the transformation of urban landscape. Gabriele Basilico was to be our 7th artist in residence for the ImageSingulières festival 2014.

EVENING #3 - TEN YEARS OF PICTURETANK
ERIC BOUVET RETROSPECTION
CHAIS DES MOULINS > SATURDAY 11th MAY- 9pm (free entry)

The third evening comprises two parts:
one devoted to a retrospective on Éric Bouvet, who covered numerous conflicts during his Gamma years and who, on (re)turning to freelance photography, widened his photography horizons.
The other will be an opportunity for us to celebrate ten years of Picturetank, a very dynamic distribution platform for all new photography.

CINEMA SCREENINGS
AT CINÉMA LE PALACE > FROM 18th TO 20th MAY

FRIDAY 17th MAY / 8.30pm-10:30pm
An evening fully devoted to Sète with a retrospective of the 6 residencies for photographers organised by CéTàVOIR, followed by 4 black and white short films unearthed from the valuable INA archives. To end, a documentary from 1959 by Jacques Krier about fishing with lampara nets in Languedoc.

SATURDAY 18th MAY / 8.30pm-00:30am
An opportunity for those who missed the opening week-end to catch-up, providing a broadcast of the evening events. Refreshments will be available on site during the relaxed and friendly intervals.
